David Munson

I currently reside in Columbia, Missouri, where I work and pursue various creative endeavors.

My background in photography goes back to when I was about 14 years old. I was hooked immediately and was shooting medium format by 15, 4x5 by age 16, and 8x10 by age 18. I am obsessed with photography. I majored in commercial photography at Ohio University, where I graduated cum laude in the fall of 2003.

I shoot a variety of subject matter in a variety of styles. I do both color and black and white film in 35mm, 645, 6x6, and 4x5 formats. I used to shoot 8x10, but it got too expensive and was too rarely used, so the equipment was passed on. I use a mixed workflow, shooting on film and scanning the negatives for digital articulation and printing. I find that this is what works best for me.
