Showing off someone else's ULF camera here. This fellow has put together an impressive build. I'm particularly impressed by his strategy for sourcing springs for his spring back. I don't think I've encountered anyone reusing the springs in clothes lines clips before. Very nice and the extra wood in linking the springs is actually a very nice look, too!

“You can’t have everything. Where would you put it?”
Hi Michael, looks super! What tripod head is that (and what tripod)?
Ah, didn't know about the Monfrotto 400 (looking it up). A quick release seems like a good way to go, esp. with the weight of the 12x20.
Was just curious.
Thanks!
The QR is certainly a plus, but, for me the geared movements were the attraction. No fear of the camera heading somewhere you hadn’t planned; usually downward...
However for ULF, a cinema camera release system using 120mm O'Connor or Ronford Baker [RBQ] compatible plates also works very well and allows the use of any tripod head with about a 3"x5” top plate. It was the berries when I had my 20x24.

Beautiful!
