Outage Notification Sunday, June 23, 7AM PDT (14:00 GMT)

There will be a short outage of about 2-3 hours starting from 7AM PDT (10AM EDT, 14:00 GMT) time this Sunday, June 23, so we can move everything off the current server to a new one.

As part of the cut-over a DNS change is required for the largeformatphotography.info website. If you experience name resolution problems (you'll see something like a 'server not found' error), you may loose the ability to get to the forum temporarily. Jut keep trying every few minutes because the change requires DNS records to replicate globally so that can take some time (up to 24 hours) for all locations. Rebooting your computer might be required if it caches DNS info.

Post to this thread if you have questions before the cut-over or have issues afterwards. We don't anticipate any issues with this change.

I'm turning on the Forum now. It looks from my end that things are up on the new box OK, but Verizon on my cell phone isn't working yet (DNS hasn't updated there yet, it seems), so if you have problems accessing the site, try rebooting your computer/device and see if that helps. Retry as needed until it's working--DNS can be maddening getting updates pushed out to all networks.

Anyway, report any issues in this thread so I'll see them timely.

… and that’s no joke. We bought a house on a cul-de-sac thinking traffic would be nonexistent. Then learned that everyone uses it to turn around. Then found that as the last house with curb parking there are nonstop parking congestion… to the point of near battles. Then found we’re at end of the water main, where the gunk and deposits end up. Then found we’re at the end of the buried phone lines, which are rotten. Then found that were at the end of the legacy cable, which fortunately supports our needs. Never again buying on a cult-de-sac!

There seems to be a glitch with the private messaging system. I'm not receiving email notification of new messages. Today's was the third such instance. I ignored the first two, thinking that it might take a day or two to settle down. I have confirmed that the Receive Email Notification of new Private Messages button is turned on.

the logs indicate the system is emailing PM notifications (sent you one sample as a PM). Try checking for it in SPAM?
