Appearing in the early 1930's the 300mm 5.5 Tele-Xenar can be found in the Schneider literature throughout the 1930's but little to none said about it after 1940...
The 300mm 5.5 Tele-Xenar survived the war though there is little mention of it post-war.
SN: 3,008,479 of 1952 is the latest I have seen. It is in a Linhof compur shutter. It is a Linhof engraved "Select" lens but there is no mention of it in the Linhof literature. The Linhof literature is rather sparse on lens info until the mid 50's and by that time this lens seems to have been retired by Schneider in favor of the 270mm and 360mm.
The 5.5 Tele-Xenar line would see greater reduction following the release of the Tele-Arton line in the late 1950's.
If anyone has any post-war info or literature on the Tele-Xenar 300mm 5.5 I would like to see it.
These photos above have it in a 4x5 board of later 1960's vintage.
The 300mm 5.5 Tele-Xenar was also sold for medium format cameras with a very long barrel both pre and post war.
The latest I have seen of the MF type dates to 1950 (SN 2,464,600).
