AARGH!!!! I just saw an all black Copal 3s shutter on everyone's favorite auction website. I did not expect to see an all black 3s. So another varriant exists. So if you want a Copal 3 shutter, you had better ask the seller to carefully measure the front and rear thread sizes or you could end up with one of the varriants. Like me I have all of the varriants of the Copal 3 except for the all black 3s.

To bridge the gap between my 210mm and 360/500mm lenses, I recently bought a Fuji 300mm, my first lens with a Copal 3.
But it seems I have a gotten myself an oddball : it came on a Cambo SC board with a threaded ring screwed to the board, not with a regular back-retaining ring.
Since I am using for all long lenses a Luland tube/extension, I bought a standard retaining ring but it remains loose - can't fix the lens.
I have no Sinar Copal 3 board, alas.
The thread on the Fuji is exactly 60mm, that on the retaining ring is... 61mm !
All this is far from the spec'ed C3 diameters I have seen everywhere ; what's the culprit ? The Copal on my Fuji or the too-large retaining ring ?
I could use the original screwed-on ring BUT its outer diameter is too large for the Luland board - grrrr.
What do I do with all those unmatched bits ?

Solved : had a workshop reduce the strange custom Cambo ring by a mm and a half, now fitting in the Luland circular board and the clamping works as for any other board/lens/ring.
Anybody else with a non-standard C3 / Fuji 300mm ?
