Looking for a back-carry sling for tripod plus

My wife and I will be hiking in the great out-of-doors next month. We're not experienced hikers, nor campers; just out to see some wonders of the west. Though I'd love to take the 4x5, I will be carrying only my M4, a couple of extra lenses, and some Delta 100, in a sort of photo vest, for occasional opportunities as they may arise. But I will take my tripod, and we will be taking trekking poles. Therefor, I'm looking for a comfortable back carry case for tripod (and sometimes poles), both of which collapse to 27". The tripod is an old aluminum Cullman, perhaps 4 lbs., with a circumference of about 16" at the top, closed. A plain canvas carrier would be fine, if spacious enough for me to pad the inside. Suggestions sought. Thanks.

I use one of these biathlon slings for my Ries J tripod. I added a ring by the head to clip into, and a ring with velcro to wrap around the feet/leg clamps.

For backpacks / remote hiking in particular I always feel like there should be a way to turn my trekking poles into tripod legs. I know there are a few products out there but nothing compelling, would be a huge weight saver at the cost of maybe some time to reconfigure things.

domaz - trekking poles are nowhere near rigid enough to be realistic LF tripod legs. If they were, they wouldn't make very good shock-relieving walking poles. There are monopod style walking poles; but they're a compromise which does neither job ideally.

I find that a seperate sling for my tripod works best for me, but I'm not very coordinated.
Cool kids lash their tripods to their packs.
I use an inexpensive but nicely padded nylon shotgun sling.
In the past, the bag Coleman camping chairs come in have worked well, but the fabric is thin and prone to getting holes plus the sling isn't padded like shotgun slings.
I sling up one of the legs and bind the three legs together using a dog collar from Dollar Tree so I can unbuckle the collar so my tripods ready to use with the sling still attached.

Ain't it nice to be in yer 70's when it's socially acceptable to be cantankerous and pull a shotgun out of the sling and pepper somebody's butt with rock salt for asking why you're taking pictures with such an old-fashioned looking device?
