Peter, wonderful portraits! Great work!
Thanks, Vaughn. Very useful information.
Yes, it's probably not ideal for making portraits on 8x10, but it is what I have and will have to make do for now.
Seeing as this lens is relatively wide angle for 8x10, how close to the subject...
Wow! That's really gorgeous Dave!
The checklist is now a scroll! ;)
Yes, that appears to be in my future...
Nice job, Peter!
I seem to remember a very old SNL parody commercial where the photo flash being hawked set the subjects hair on fire.
You might be getting into GE #50 bulb territory here! An...
Mark,
Thanks. It just gets to be a bit much sometimes...
Place a drop or two of 95% alcohol on the retaining ring threads and give it a few minutes to penetrate. This sometimes helps loosen the rings...
Just blew 4 sheets of 8x10 because I forgot to check the focus AFTER stopping down while using an antique convertible lens with a single element.
It's all so slightly fuzzy; bleech!
Remind me...
Jobo documentation is sometimes hard to find. Seems that they came perilously close to going totally out of business in the late 1990's and a lot of whatever documentation was available online...
I am unsure if all of your questions can be answered here, but it's a good place to start researching:

Jim,
Thanks for the words of encouragement.
I actually did use a yellow filter; that's what caused such a long exposure with an additional 5 seconds thrown in for reciprocity failure. It was a...

Sorry for the mundane subject matter; it was more of a technical exercise for me and I don't feel like lugging the C1 out into the Wild just yet.

All good suggestions. Thank you.
OK, I'll get an 18 inch wrap! I only have one lens for the 8x10 now anyway and that should do me fine.
Thanks for the info, Jerry.
The largest size boards I have are 6x6, but none of the lenses I have (so far) are physically very large. I'll just order a 15" one and go from there...
Opinions on best Lens Wraps for transporting LF lenses on lens boards, please!
Typically, what's the best size?
Here's a thread on Photrio where the manufacturer of King tanks announces their return to production.

Very nice!
What filament are you printing? PETG?
You probably won't ever see this low of a price again on 5x7 Foma 400.
Sure, it's short-dated, but everything I bought has been fine.
Better grab it while it lasts! $65 for 50 sheets?

Just my take on it; others may have other opinions or helpful tips...
First of all, make darned sure your changing bag is CLEAN. Turn it inside-out, vacuum the hell out of it and inspect/trim any...
Man, there is a tree right down the road from where I live that I would love to take a 8x10 shot of, but I would have to enter a pasture.

I totally forgot they are still in business. I will do that!
Thank you. I can say with certainty the lens is a Plasmat, as I took it apart to try to clean the light haze; it only helped marginally.
My favorite vintage/junk store was getting ready to scrap out a NuArc copy camera after being unable to sell it for several years, so I talked them out of the lens and shutter.

Mark,
Thank you for that explanation.
While the lens elements are kind of rough, I'll be interested to see how it performs once I get the bellows patched and repair the film back.
