  2. Re: Making Inkjet Negatives For Alt Processes

I've been working this way for many years, dumbing it down as I go. At the end of the day, we stick with what works for us.
  3. Re: Making Inkjet Negatives For Alt Processes

I guess the person who developed QTR, worked only with Epson printers... Canon printers are more than capable, too. Dan Burkholder has decent information online, I believe.
  4. Making Inkjet Negatives For Alt Processes

This is probably the last video I'll make about this film... unless I can get my hands on some 120! Apparently they slitted a few pancakes at 60mm...

Re: Why BLACK & White PRINTS!

I prefer to call them, monochromatic prints. I like to use several Alt. processes that have their own unique colour. With Carbon transfer, I can make them in any colour I like. Monochrome emphasises...

    Re: Rollei IR in 510-Pyro

Very strange, indeed. I use this film a lot and have been for many years. Ruling out the mistake of fixer first, I got blank sheets when the shutter didn't fire, when I thought it had, or didn't...

Re: Problem of scanning 8X10 films

That's very odd, indeed. Do you have the scanner set to scan with "film area guide", since you are scanning directly on the platen? I can't think of anything else... By the way, the 8x10 film frame...

  20. Re: 8x10 shooters, can HP5 come close to Tri-X 320?

I think it would be very easy to make HP5 behave like Tri-X 400, but a little trickier with 320. Their toes (and curves) are so different. I would probably start by underexposing HP5 by a couple of...

    Re: Fujinon W 180 & 8x10

Sadly, the Nikkor SW 150 is a tad out of my price range... I think I've got WA covered for 8x10. Nikkor SW 120, Fujinon W 180, Nikkor W 210, and 240.

I'd love to have a Schneider 150 XL, but it's not a 90mm equivalent. I friend of mine used to let me borrow his years ago... Anything out there that has more IC than the Fujinon? Thanks!

    Re: Fujinon W 180 & 8x10

I think that was mostly down to me not centring the lens... I've had it since out in the field and was very careful about that. All looked great! I'll try focussing on the hyperfocal distance next...

My money is on it being fine. I've got a box of 4x5 tmax, expired 2000. I bought it new in '98 in Japan. Sat in a drawer, in my darkroom. Started using the remaining sheets about a year ago. It was...

  32. Adox CMS 20 II & Mortensen's Glycin Variant

I really wanted to see how this high resolution film (800 lines/mm) would perform in Mortensen's Glycin Variant... I was quite pleased, and was able to make a lovely, little, Carbon Transfer print.

  33. Re: Have you had to pay hefty customs fees when buying from Japan?

But... (I forgot to mention this...) I will not buy an item if the only way is DHL, or UPS. They are crooks...especially the latter.
  34. Re: Have you had to pay hefty customs fees when buying from Japan?

I've found fees to be reasonable, over the many years I've dealt with Japan sellers, even for stuff under $200. My Fujinon W 180 just arrived. $40 FedEx, and $11 dollars tax. I don't mind paying $40...

For ultra-large format...in my case, 14x17... I only have one holder. I could only afford one. Two sheets of XRAY.
