Hello,
I'm looking for someone to do drum scans for me. I'm currently using A&I, and although I'm more than happy with the quality, the cost is just too much after awhile. To get a 300MB file, it's costing me $150 each scan. Well, that can quickly get out of hand. Furthermore, I'm not comfortable sending my transparencies in the mail, so I would like to find someone locally that I can hand deliver to. Also, if there is a current member here that is willing to do the scans for me, I'd like to be involved in the process. Basically, I would like to own my own drum scanner someday, so I might as well start learning how to do the process myself. Therefore, I could pay you for your time and/or rental of the equipment and let me be there when we're doing the scans. The sizes I'm scanning are 8x10 and 4x5, and I don't have a lot. It'll simply be one or two scans at a time every now and then. You know...the keepers.
Can anybody help? Is there anybody with experience and who owns a drum scanner that would be willing to help me out? If not, does anybody know of any other company in Los Angeles that is cheaper than A&I but maintains the high quality?
Thanks.
Mike
